Bournemouth Close in on Deal for Winger Ben Doak

Bournemouth close to completing deal for Liverpool's Ben Doak.

Bournemouth have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool winger Ben Doak for an initial £20 million, with a further £5 million in potential add-ons.

The 19-year-old is expected to complete his move to the south coast within the next 24 hours, subject to final paperwork and a successful medical.

Doak was left out of Liverpool’s 4–2 win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday night as negotiations between the two clubs progressed.

Bournemouth have now secured the signature of the Scotland international, who has earned six senior caps.

The player spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he scored three goals and provided seven assists in 24 appearances.

The Cherries are understood to have beaten off competition from several other clubs, including Premier League rivals Leeds United and Portuguese side FC Porto.

CBI News reports that Doak’s move is seen as a step toward greater first-team opportunities, having made just 10 senior appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Celtic in 2022.

The Doak signing continues a busy summer for Bournemouth, who last week sold Dango Ouattara to Brentford for £42.5 million.

They have also seen key defensive trio Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, and Milos Kerkez depart for a combined total of around £150 million, with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Liverpool the respective buyers.

Manager Andoni Iraola, speaking after the Anfield defeat, admitted his side are "not where they want to be" and promised "important movements" before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
